The Sharper Image is an American brand that offers consumers home electronics, air purifiers, gifts and other high-tech lifestyle products through its website, catalog, and third-party retailers. The Sharper Image catalog and website are owned and operated by Michigan-based Camelot Venture Group, while the brand licensing is owned by ThreeSixty Group, Inc. The brand has been in operation since its relaunch in 2010. The earlier consumer products retailer by that name was founded by Richard Thalheimer and was in business from 1977 until its closing in 2008. The company sold merchandise through dozens of retail stores throughout the United States, a monthly catalog, and its website, along with business-to-business sales teams that marketed products for corporate incentive programs and wholesale to retailers.

Mary mentioned, "I ordered about 300 dollars worth of products from Sharper Image. I ended up placing the order but didn't want one of the items I picked. My fault. Within 15 minutes I called sharper image trying to switch the product to something else. I was told they would have to refund the whole order and I would have to re-order it. I sent several emails asking for an email confirmation back that I would receive a total refund back on my credit card. So for days I kept getting shipping updates even though the package was rerouted back to the distribution center.

I then received an 18 dollar refund for god knows what, and I received a gift card to make my purchase. I filled a charge back with my credit card company because I don't have the time to fight with them back and forth to get my money back when the return policy states that with 60 days you will get your money back in original form. I have 10+ emails going to them asking why I received a gift card and no one has gotten back to me. PLEASE AVOID USING SHARPER IMAGE AT ALL COSTS."

"Poor management, people treated like thow aways, robot like environment"

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"-The men running the company (Lance Reese specifically) will sleep with employees and then put them in management roles -There is no opportunity for growth, as the company only hires outside the company for management instead of promoting present employees -HR is ONE person who in the pockets of the higher ups so anything you tell him will be spread throughout the company -There is a severe lack of professionalism in the office -The pay is absolute trash but Sharper Image hires in predominantly young employees for this reason. If you dare ask about it, you will be mocked or chewed out -Nothing including the products functions well. From reports constantly being incorrect to even the printer that will never be replaced, this company buys cheap products that just don't function -There is a lack of respect in how the men running the company speak to employees. They will talk to you in such a disrespectful way and expect you to be quiet about it -Sharper Image will hire someone to take another employee's place before that person leaves, right under their noses! -The overall environment is nasty and political. All in all, Sharper Image will drain you dry and before you realize it, you've spent 10 years slaving away with barely anything to show for it. Sharper Image does NOT care about employees."

Sales Associate says

"horrible management, there was no leadership what so ever. Every manager contradicted what the other manager said. It was a lot like office space with the TPS report. I felt like going to work every day was like working with the boss from office space. It was one of the most miserable working experiences of my life and I am honestly happy the company went under. They didnt care about their employess or their customers. Their executive team was an absolute joke. Good riddance."

"Low pay no paid time off commission was horrible"

"During my time at this company I went through a few hostile takeovers. Some that survived the layoffs were bitter miserable people that threw others under the bus to save themselves. All of us knew we were going to lose our jobs at a certain point so the hostility some of the rank and file showed towards the end was completely unnecesary. I hope they didn't carry that poison to their next position."

I have been begging upper management for months for a new headset because customers cannot hear me so I spend 11 hours having to scream. Jill Leone says

"Products are usually great..but their customer service is horrible..on hold today 45 mins..still having a problem since mid November! ☹️☹️☹️"

Caroline Kennedy says

"I received 2 items from this company for Christmas. One was purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond. It was a hand sanitizer and it did not work. I returned it for a refund. The other item was purchased directly from this store's website. It was the Streadi Pedi, a non returnable item. It was scratched all over the inside, the light did not work, and it was missing an item. Because it is non returnable, I couldn't deal with this online. I tried to call customer service 4 different times but couldn't reach them due to the extended wait time. Today I called at 9:10 am. They open at 9 am. I waited on hold for 30 minutes before an agent answered. She was nice and offered to send out another Steadi Pedi but the wait time every time I called was too long, which is unacceptable. Because both items that I received were defective and the extended wait time, I am giving this a 1 star review. I will never buy from them again."

Morgan L. Miles says

"DO NOT NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! I ordered a full body pillow for $119. When the pillow arrived I was very disappointed with the quality of the item. I immediately packed it back up, went marching to the post office and shipped it right back to the company. Expecting to get a refund, I was in for a rude awakening(literally). Instead of a refund I was emailed a gift certificate with no expiration code on it. 1 month later I attempted to use this "gift certificate" but it wouldn't accept it. So I called the customer service line and was told it was a 44 min wait time to speak with a rep. So I waited only to be told that the gift certificate had expired and I needed to call the customer service number. I informed her that the number I dialed was customer service. She told me to "please hold on" only for me to here the recorder say, "You've reach customer service. Currently, all of our representatives are busy assisting other customers. However, your call is important to us, please stay on the line and your call will be answer in the order in which it was received" Your estimated wait time is 33min. THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE!!!"

janet o'sullivan says

"I actually never made a purchase - my mom tried to order something, and was clearly a little confused, but just needed a little patience and help. Instead, the operator was incredibly rude and treated her like a moron. At times ignoring her questions. I would never order from these."

Paul Sisneros says

"No customer service whatsoever, I tried to place an order for a gift and as soon as I clicked paypal it said the order was complete, it never let me put in the gift address and sent it to my own address. There is no button to cancel an order. I called customer service and they would not cancel it, they say I have to wait till it gets here, and then ship it back at my own expense. This is ridiculous. DO NOT ORDER from them. They don't care about their customers and won't help you in any way."

Anna says

"Do not order from Sharper Image for Christmas or gift giving. You will be disappointed. I ordered 2 gifts, with giftbag/cards on December 13th for delivery before Christmas. 4 days later they sent an email labeled "Order Update" that I may not have even read thinking it was a shipment update. However, it stated that they canceled one of my items because they were out of stock and they would offer a 10% discount and free shipping if I wanted to reorder. I could contact them by email, or call their toll free number. I did both today. No one has responded to my email yet, but finally after an hour hold I spoke to an agent. She informed me that the gift bags were out of stock too. So, the reason I chose Sharper Image instead of Amazon, was to have the items gift bagged to send to Grandpa and Grandpa in the same delivery on the same day. There was nothing else I could find for Grandma's replacement on their website, but I asked the agent if she could provide a discount to an order I would purchase for my husband. She agreed to take 20% off, but not free shipping. So, the current promotion online was free shipping and 20% cash back rewards and a $25 gift card. Her offer was worse than the existing! I decided then that I could and would not ever shop with them again."

Cindy N Rob Hallen says

"CUSTOMER SERVICE LIARS.... Ordered a gift for grandsons. Product was listed "In stock / ships with-in 2-days". Two weeks later, still no gift or shipping information. Called four times with ONE HOUR WAIT TIMES, promised it would ship, has shipped, don't know why is has not shipped, etc. I was lied to continuously. Make other gift plans, as this company cannot meet your orders, but certainly can TAKE YOUR MONEY!"

Christina says

"I am very disappointed with Sharper Image. I recently purchased a treadmill from them which I like but what I don't like is the false advertising and false promises made regarding discounts and promotions. I was told I was getting a $25 gift card and that never showed up so I had to ask twice for it. Once they sent it, it was not a gift card but a "promotional" code which cannot be combined with any other offer and has to be used on $50+ of merchandise. I was also supposed to get $60 cash back (as promotional cash to spend at Sharper Image) but instead they sent me $48. I was also supposed to get free shipping with the order of the treadmill which I let slide since the shipping amount was the same as the supposed $25 gift card. Overall, I won't shop with Sharper Image again. Their promotions are confusing and they should not be stating that they are sending a Gift Card when they send a promotional code instead. I have taken screenshots of everything."

Peterd says

"Bought a Sharper Image can opener, expecting a decent product that would last for a few years, as it is after 9 months of fairly light use - 2 or 3 cans every week, it has stopped working with the teeth on the wheel having worn down. Pathetic!"

Lula Hopper says

"I feel so violated. I was not familiar with this company at all, however I saw an advertisement for some solar candles that were so nice so I went to the Sharper Image site and gladly placed an order; as matter of fact, I ordered two of them (over $100). It has been a month ago now and still not a word. I have been extremely patient. I have tried contacting them on their site, concerning this situation. What has caused the insult is that they are not responding to me at all; which makes me feel like they; one, do not value their customers; and two, their company does not have a level of integrity or respect. I feel like if you know that you do not have an item in stock why not state that instead of taking people's money. I know that their are some delays because of the pandemic, but not even informing me of what's going on is utter disrespect and poor business practice. At this point I don't know if I've been scammed or what. No form of communication on their part. I have ordered other things from other companies, on line, since and have received all other orders; maybe a little later, but nothing like this, and was communicated with. I am so offended. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, and will fight to get my money returned. At this point I do not want anything from these people. It's so much scamming going on during this pandemic; who knows what is real anymore. People run like water. Very disappointed."

Travers & Travers says

"Never received the item!! Can't get refund"

Christine says

"Be careful when ordering, they told me an item in a particular color was no longer in stock, i ordered a different color. They sent me two of the items in each of the colors, charged me 2xs and cannot seem to return one of the items i didn't order! SCAM!"

Anne says

"I hate the ionic comfort. I don't know why you discontinued the ionic breeze but I would gladly pay for an old one that you have sitting on the shelf in a warehouse somewhere"

Tamlyn says

"The portable screen came two weeks after the ETA we were emailed plus it was damaged and we have to send back."

Nicolas says

"I received a defective product and had to call twice to receive a shipping label so I can make an exchange. However, both women in customer service I spoke with were very polite and helpful."

"Customer service did not respond to my cancellation of an order. It was sent and called customer service and was told could return at their cost and total refund including original shipping and handling would be received. I received a discounted refund greater than the original cost and return postage. I have sent two e-mails regarding the discrepancy and have not had reply for over 2 weeks."

jared says

"My experience with Sharper Image customer service email and phone support: HELLO - I did not get ANY reply to my 3 previous emails. I finally decided to call in to see where my replacement was and after waiting 1 HOUR on HOLD I was told that on November 11th that Sharper Image did not have a replacement available and that the original purchase was refunded. No one contacted me to let me know. I checked my credit card statement and there is NO CREDIT showing. Can someone please get this straighten out?????"
